Privacy Policy

Umber is designed so your video and photos stay on your phone. This policy is short because Umber collects nothing, transmits nothing, and shares nothing with anyone.

What Umber does not do

• Umber does not collect analytics or usage data.
• Umber does not track you across apps or websites.
• Umber does not use third-party tracking libraries.
• Umber does not require an account.
• Umber does not sync your videos or photos to any cloud.

Permissions Umber asks for

Umber requests three system permissions so it can work as a camera. What each is used for:

• Camera. To render the live viewfinder and record video. All processing happens on your device's GPU.
• Microphone. To record audio alongside your video. Saved on-device only.
• Photo Library. To save the videos and photos you capture into an "Umber" album in your Photos app. Umber does not read any other photos or videos in your library.

Purchases

Umber Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Umber has no access to your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy applies to that transaction.

What you export is yours

All videos and photos you record with Umber are saved to the Photos app on your device. You own them entirely - keep them, share them, delete them. Umber has no ability to access, retrieve, or affect them once you close the app.

Children

Umber is rated 4+ on the App Store. Because Umber does not collect any personal information from anyone, no additional protections for children are required.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the change. Because Umber does not collect data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
